INTRODUCTION

Heaven on Earth Foundation (HOE) is a charitable organisation in the county of Surrey in the United Kingdom. Its main purpose is to give hope and support to unfortunate children especially in developing countries. The organisation was borne out of a vision God get the founder and the model prayer by Jesus when he said, “ Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven”.

For God’s will to be done on earth, men and women are the channel through whom He shows compassion to the less privileged. On this note, Heaven on Earth was established to be the hand and tool God can use to touch others.

When Mark Buntain made his way to convert the native Indians in Calcutta, they exclaimed to him the following,

“...Don’t try to give us food for our soul, until you give us food for our stomachs”

This saying is very true in today's world: “…..Assuredly nobody will care for he who cares for no body” were the words of Thomas Jefferson. The selfless efforts and work of these faithful men still continues. These are some of the motivational foundation and ethos, that helped the founder to birth Heaven On Earth Foundation.

THE VISION

How a childhood dream of picking up hungry children off the streets became a reality giving hope to orphans in Ghana.

Chapter I — The Childhood Vow

When I was a young boy growing up things were very difficult and I saw the pain my parents went through to feed us and made sure we attended some of the best schools both primary and second cycle school. I had five brothers and four sisters. At times things are so difficult that while my school mate are on vacation classes am looking for constructing site to work and made some money for the home and school.

I always say to myself when I grew up and God help me to be in a place that I can help a poor child not to go through what I went through I will do it whole heartily.

Chapter II — The Nightly Dreams

I said this for most of my live and I begun dreaming it. Most time I will dream that I have got this white car and am picking up children that are dirty and hungry off the street. First I will feed them, clean them, change their clothing and send them to school. I was having these dreams almost every night for a year.

"picking up children that are dirty and hungry off the street... clean them, change their clothing and send them to school."
Chapter III — The Turning Point

When I finished school and travelled abroad and things change, I forgot about theses sayings and dreams. I was enjoying myself to the maximum when I begun having these dreams again. It took me back to my past and I remembered what I use to say and the dreams I had while growing up in poverty.

I remember speaking to my dad the week before and he made mention that our neighbour who lost her husband two years ago have also lost her life through cancer and their four daughter are now orphans and he wish he can help them. I call my dad and promise to be sending some money down for them each month.

Chapter IV — Turning Dreams to Reality

This I started doing and for about three years later I received a letter from the eldest of these wonderful orphans, in the letter she was now in medical school, her other sister is studying administration in the university of Ghana and the two sister are in Wesley Girls Secondary school. I wept when I finish reading that letter.

That night I had a dream and this man was telling me that there are more doctors, lawyers, pastors and well to do children on the street who needs someone to give them a push. Now I knew it was time for me to turn my dreams into reality. Today its no more a dream but a reality giving hope to many orphans and the poor in Ghana.
